375 millions of years ago appeared fresh water fishes and the first vertebrates went from water to soil. The simplest scenario is that lungfish came to soil to exploit new resources: not only the food but also oxygen, far more available here than in the water.

Evolution is a process of change over time. Along the history of the Earth many evidences show that all living organisms arose in the sea from ancient and more primitive forms. That is to say, that all the species descent from others.

One way or another, the transition from water to soil of these animals mark a milestone to life in our planet. From here, natural selection was responsible for the evolution of these creatures.

In last years, scientists have started to join pieces to know how this transition occurred, but the breakthroughs are limited due to the condition of some fossils, often in microscopic fragments.
